Broadway Debut

September was a very busy month between starting up lessons in New Paltz, resuming teaching at the Irish Arts Center, finding new places to play upstate, and making my first Broadway appearance with the award-winning show, Come From Away! I played on quite a few shows through September, and am now honored to be a designated substitute musician for the multi-talented full-time whistles guy, Ben Power!

This show tells the true story of 7,000 passengers who were diverted to the small town of Gander in Newfoundland on 9/11, and how they were welcomed in by the locals. The actors seamlessly play about 5 characters each, with each character representing a real person who was stranded on 9/11. I would say go see it NOW because it's awesome and you'll LOVE it, but they seem to be sold out pretty much every go see it whenever you can get your hands on a ticket! Definitely not to be missed.

It's been a humbling experience getting the opportunity to be a part of such a successful and special show. The whole team are just such a good bunch of people- they are as friendly, welcoming and fun as their characters! Wishing them many more years of the well-deserved success they are experiencing right now, and look forward to playing with them more in the future.
